Sharjah airport 1937 and Dubai airport "flash mob"
The Air Outpost video was shot in 1937, an old black-and-white video that shows how Sharjah airport used to be at that time. The population back then used to be around 15,000 and it consisted of Arabs and a group of Indian and Iranian traders. The video also shows how they used to move around from one area to another; no fancy cars, just animals like camels and donkeys. It also contains an idea about the number one business back then which was pearls taken from the oyster beds. The airport was built in a fort design and it was under the control of British personnel. There was an aeroplane that was in the video as well; it was England’s Imperial Airways and built by Handley Page. That flight used to take 4 days to get to Sharjah’s airport from England; the reason for that is the many stops they had through different countries. There were technicians working day and night making sure that the airplane will get safe to the next destinations: India and Australia. And last for the weather conditions there was this balloon released from the airport’s roof and it was used to gather all the information on wind speeds and so many more data.
The second video was a Flash mob, which is when random people in one place start doing dance choreography, freeze or sing at the same time. At Dubai’s airport duty free, we see people from different nationalities and backgrounds dancing together, doing the same moves at the same time. They all look happy and loving what they are doing. Both videos are in airports and the second one shows how different things became after 80 years.
